Class 1
This week, class 1 have been working with the skipping school virtual coaches and alongside County Durham Sport to take us on a skipping journey.
We have been looking at fundamental skills and made lots of progression. Our favourite game was ‘Big Rope Bouncing’.
Class 2
We have had lots of fun combining National Skipping Week and our Numeracy work this week. We have been skipping in different directions ensuring that we can respond to positional and directional vocabulary. We are super impressed with all of the skipping skills in class 2. We have remembered lots from our sessions with Gail and we were able to watch the virtual coaches and put the skills into action. Look at us go …. double bouncing, hopping and backwards skipping!
Class 3
Today we have taken part in our ‘Skip into spring’ skipping school! We practiced some skills we were confident with and had a go at some new ones, the virtual coaches had taught us. The children really impressed me and had lots of fun in the sun!
UNCRC Article 31 – Every child has the right to relax, play and take part in a wide range of activities.
Class 4
This week is Skipping Week and Class 4 have been practising and perfecting their skipping techniques! We watched lots of helpful videos in class to explain new moves and to recap the basics and had a fantastic time trying to see just how many jumps we could do in 1 minute. Jake and Freddie even managed to wow us by doing the Side Swing Cross! We are continuing our newfound skipping skills in both our PE lessons and our breaktimes.
Well done to all of Class 4 for giving 100% effort in their skipping and for encouraging each other along the way.
Class 5
UNCRC Article 31 – leisure, play and culture
Well done to all our children in Class 5 this week who demonstrated some fantastic skipping skills using the resources from Skipping School.
