This week we invite you to explore one of the rights that does not get talked about so much in schools, Article 35, abduction, sale and trafficking. Due to the nature of this topic we have separated out content in this pack into primary and secondary sections, each with their own short video.
This week’s topic needs to be handled sensitively. We would urge you to consider safeguarding procedures in your school and we would strongly recommend completing the activities in class, under the guidance of a teacher, and not setting this pack, or individual activities, as homework.
While conversations around Article 35 can be difficult or painful, it is important when educating about children’s rights to explore the Convention as a whole in line with the obligation of duty bearers to ensure that children have knowledge of all of their rights (Article 42).
