I am Vice-Chair of governors and I have two children at our wonderful school. I am a PhD researcher at Newcastle University where I also teach part-time on the undergraduate Sociology course. I am delighted to be part of the governing body at such a fantastic, caring and nurturing school, which is also an integral part of the community. As a parent governor I serve on the following committees:
Finance and Premises committee which is responsible for overseeing the spending of the school budget and financing for the upkeep of the school building and grounds.
Personnel Committee which has responsibility for overseeing all issues to do with staffing in school, including making appointments, and reviewing performance management policy for all staff.
Appeals Committee which has responsibility for considering any appeal made by a member of staff against a decision made under the personnel procedures adopted by the governing body.
