I moved to Nettlesworth in 2017 and have been an active member of the community ever since. I am a member of the Parish Church Council, trustee of Kimblesworth and Nettlesworth Community Task Force, and chair of the Nettlesworth School Community Group. I also run Messy Church and previously ran Little Stars Baby and Toddler Group at the Community Centre. I love this community and am honoured to serve Nettlesworth Primary School which is such a valued and key part of it.
I became a governor in February 2021 when my daughter was in Reception. I have seen the school go from strength to strength, ensuring they provide a safe, caring, inclusive, and individualised learning experience for all pupils. The Rights Respecting Gold ethos right through the school and out into the community which has a significant impact not only on the pupils, but on their families and their neighbours. The school’s awards of the Inclusion Quality Mark and NACE Challenge Ambassador are a testament to the importance of each individual child and the high aspirations encouraged for every pupil. As governor, I am committed to supporting the school as it continues to develop practice and teach pupils in a nurturing environment.
My current roles in the governing body are to oversee RE, Art and DT, MFL, Transitions, and Mental Health and Wellbeing.
I currently serve on the following committees:
Curriculum and Standards which has responsibility for the oversight of the curriculum delivery in school and standards of attainment in school.
First/Pay Review
Finance and Premises which is responsible for overseeing the spending of the school budget and financing for the upkeep of the school building and grounds.
Personnel Committee which has responsibility for overseeing all issues to do with staffing in school, including making appointments, and reviewing performance management policy for all staff.
