Governor – Mrs Sue Kirton-Darling

I farm with my husband Bob, land around Plawsworth and Nettlesworth, following in the footsteps of family who have farmed the land for over 400 years.
My maternal grandfather worked at Kimblesworth Pit. We are both part of the congregation at St. Philip and St. James Parish Church Kimblesworth and I  am a member of the Mothers Union.

We have three grown up children and five grandchildren.

I have known Nettlesworth school since 1975 and felt so proud to be appointed a Community Governor in 2011.

I serve on the following committees as part of my role:

Finance and Premises committee which is responsible for overseeing the spending of the school budget and financing for the upkeep  of the school building and grounds.

First/Pay Review committee which deals with staff personnel issues and works  in conjunction with the Finance committee around issues concerning staffing finance.

Personnel committee which deals with staffing personnel issues across all staff in school.
