Children in Need

November 5, 2020 by admin

5th November 2020

5th November 2020

Dear Parents/Carers,

Children in Need this year is on Friday 13th November.

We would like to support this day by asking you to send your children to school in as many colours possible. This year we have seen an array of Rainbows up and down the country giving hope to many people during the COVID pandemic.

Please can we ask you to pay a £1 donation via parentpay and all donations received will go directly to Children in Need.

The children will also take part in doing the last 20 minutes of Joe Wick’s 24 hour marathon in their class bubbles.

We look forward to seeing lots of colour on this day and would like to thank you for your help and support.

Many Thanks

Class 2 Memorable Experience

November 3, 2020 by admin

Memorable Experience

Today we found a fairy garden!

Mrs Miller spotted something sparkly so we went to investigate.

We were so surprised to find a fairy door and a little note.

We discussed the note we had found and thought of questions we would like to find the answer to.

How exciting!

We hope to see the school fairy again soon!

Confirmed Case of COVID

Confirmed COVID Case

Monday 2nd November, 2020

Dear Parents/Carers,

Confirmed case of COVID-19 within school

We have been advised this morning that there has been a confirmed case of COVID-19 within the school during half term.

We know that you will find this concerning but would like to assure you that we contacted Public Health England and the DfE immediately, have followed their instructions and will continue to follow their advice and guidance.

The affected case has been absent from school since 24th October for half term holidays. NO adult or child has been identified as a close contact and therefore no one needs to make any changes to their usual routine. School remains open and your child should continue to attend if they remain well.

The most common symptoms of COVID-19 are recent onset of:

  • a new continuous cough and/or
  • a high temperature and/ or
  • a loss of, or change in, normal sense of taste or smell (anosmia).

If your child, or anyone in your household, develops these symptoms, you whole household must remain at home and not go to work, school or public areas. You should arrange testing for the person who has developed symptoms. When the result is known further advice will be available.

Testing can be arranged by calling 119 or via the NHS website: nhs.uk/coronavirus.

There are things we can all do to help reduce the risk of you and anyone you live with getting ill with COVID-19:

  • wash your hands with soap and water often – do this for at least 20 seconds
  • use hand sanitiser gel if soap and water are not available
  • wash your hands as soon as you get home
  • cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or your sleeve (not your hands) when you cough or sneeze
  • put used tissues in the bin immediately and wash your hands afterwards

Yours Sincerely

Police community project

October 23, 2020 by admin

Class 3 felt very proud painting a community art project for the police. We illustrated UNCRC Article 28, every child has a right to an education. UNCRC Article 31, every child has the right to relax, play and take part in a range of cultural and artistic activities and UNCRC Article 24, every child has the right to best possible health. Governments must work to provide best possible healthcare, clean water, nutritious food. We look forward to seeing the artwork on display in Chester-le-Street.
