Awesome Illustrator Visit – Liz Million

June 12, 2025 by lauragrant

Article  29: We all have the right to develop our personalities, talents and abilities.

Over three days this week, the children across the whole school were spell-bound as they were visited by the illustrator and author Liz Million.

Liz writes, illustrates and publishes her own books as well as illustrating for other authors and working in schools. She talked to the children about her choices through education and how it led her to her present career – despite not thinking that it was possible as a child even though she always loved art.

She showed the children how she used things like ‘tacos’, ‘potatoes’ and ‘door arches’ to help to get the shapes for her characters and the children were amazed at how quickly she could come up with a finished picture. What was even more amazing, was the images that the children produced following her tips and ideas.

Throughout the week, all of the children and staff were amazed by the enthusiasm of Liz and she truly inspired everybody!
