Class 1 Activities

Welcome to Class 1 2025 -2026

Autumn Term 1

Welcome to the start of a very exciting journey in Reception! ๐ŸŒŸ
I am absolutely delighted to have your little one join us and want to thank you for your trust and support as we begin this important new chapter together.

Today marks the beginning of many new friendships, discoveries and joyful learning experiences. I understand this first day may be filled with a mix of emotions for both you and your child, and please rest assured that we are here to support every step of the way.

My focus this week will be on helping the children settle in, feel safe, and become familiar with their new environment. There will be plenty of time for play, exploration, and getting to know each other.

All of the children have had a wonderful first day at school, I am very proud of them ๐Ÿ™‚

Our first topic this year is; โ€œMarvellous Meโ€! This exciting topic is all about helping children learn more about themselves and each other as they settle into Reception.

Throughout this half term, we will be exploring:
๐Ÿง’ Who we are โ€“ our names, families, likes and dislikes
๐Ÿ‘€ Our bodies โ€“ naming body parts and learning about our five senses
๐Ÿง  Our feelings โ€“ recognising and talking about emotions
๐Ÿ‘ซ Friendships โ€“ learning how to play, share and take turns
๐Ÿก Our homes and communities โ€“ what makes us unique and where we belong.

We will share stories, songs, art, and activities that help build confidence, support personal and social development, and celebrate what makes each of us special.

If you have any questions, please donโ€™t hesitate to reach out.

Warm regards,
Mrs Morton
