Ofsted Report

September 7, 2023 by admin

Dear Parents/Carers,

We’re delighted to inform you that Nettlesworth Primary School has retained its ‘good’ judgement by Ofsted in our latest inspection under the new framework.

There’s been a lot of hard work behind the scenes to maintain this ‘good’ judgement, and we’re thrilled that the hard work of our staff has been recognised. I’m sure you’ll join me in congratulating everyone who works and volunteers at our school.

I wanted to draw your attention to the following feedback we received:

‘This is a happy school. Welcoming smiles from exceptionally caring staff greet pupils at the start of each day.’

‘Leaders set high expectations for all pupils.’

‘Pupils’ behavior is excellent.’

‘A new approach to the teaching of phonics has strengthened early reading in school.’

‘Pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities are fully included in the life of the school. The needs are identified quickly. Leaders do all they can to ensure they recive the right support and intervention.’

‘There is a strong culture of safeguarding established at the school. Leaders know their pupils well. This means they are alert to the smallest changes in their behavior. They are swift to seek the support and advice of other agencies. Record keeping is meticulous, and the chronology of actions taken is detailed.’

I also wanted to personally thank everyone who completed Ofsted’s Parent View survey. This is such valuable feedback, and we will read every comment to continue to make the school the best that it can be for your children.

Ofsted Report

What this means for us now:

  • Our senior leadership team will be reviewing all the feedback we received over the course of the inspection in depth, and we’ll look to update our school improvement plan
  • We’ll update staff/governors in an upcoming staff/governing board meeting on how we’ll apply any feedback as part of our ongoing plan of action to improve the school
  • Our next inspection will be in approximately 4 years’ time

Thank you once again for all the support you continue to give the school. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

Best wishes,

Donna Lee
