Welcome to Class 2 2025 -2026
Food Tasting
Class 2 loved our D.T lesson this week, tasting lots of foods from around the world. We tasted a range of foods and talked about the taste and textures, as well as what we liked and disliked about them.

Homework 15.9.25
This weeks homework is numeracy, and we are focusing on counting in class. Can you have a go at completing the worksheet by recalling number bonds and counting in steps? Have a go at practicing counting out loud before you start.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask!
Topic engagement – Muck, mess and mixtures
Class 2 had such a fun afternoon, launching our new topic. We got messy and explored lots of different textures. We seen how many different ways we could use paint, talked about the texture of jelly and foam and played with sand and flour. We talked about the smells, feel and texture of each one and loved getting messy!

Homework 8.9.25
Our first homework of the year is Literacy and we are introducing our first topic of ‘Food’. We have been talking about foods we like and dislike in class and have been sharing our ideas with our peers. Can you have a go at completing your worksheet, by thinking about some of your favourite foods. You can discuss this with your adults at home and think about foods they like and dislike too.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask!
Our First Day…
Class 2 have had an amazing first day in years 1 and 2! We had fun talking to all of our friends we had missed and getting to know our new classmates. We played in our new areas in the classroom and particularly enjoyed our new role play area, being scientists! We talked about what we are looking forward to about being in class 2 and what we would like to learn. We are looking forward to learning all about our new topics and having lots of fun ๐

Welcome back!
A huge welcome to class 2! I hope you have all had a lovely summer break and are looking forward to coming back to school and an exciting year ahead. We have lots of lovely things planned this year and I can wait to get to know you all. Our first Cornerstones topic is ‘Muck, mess and mixtures’, where we will be learning all about different textures, using a range of messy materials and having lots of fun experimenting with our senses. I have attached the welcome letter that includes more information about our topic and some important diary dates.
