Class 3 Activities 2026 – 2027
Dance with Gemma.
Class 3 have loved dancing with Gemma this half term. We have created a dance that links to our cornerstones topic ‘Predators’ and enjoyed performing it to our friends in Class 2!

Outdoor map making.
After our Stone Age trip we decided to create our own maps of the school field. We used all the natural resources we could find to represent the items we could see on the school field.

Designing a clay predator.
Class 3 have continued to explore their cornerstones topic ‘Predator’. We have made clay predators and included their special features. We can’t wait to paint them!
School Trip.
UNCRC – Article 29 – Developing children’s knowledge through education.
This week we went back in time and visited Hardwick Park to learn about the Stone Age. We created Stone Age art, made fires and built dens all from resources we found in the park. We explored what it would be like to survive in the Stone Age and understood how different it was to life now.

Pedestrian Training.
Class 3 completed their pedestrian training and received a certificate for all their hard work. They are able to safely cross roads and understand the Green Cross Code. Well done Class 3!

Magnets investigation.
In science, Class 3 have been investigating magnets and different magnets strength. We investigated how many paperclips a magnet can hold and presented our findings in a bar chart.

Tri Golf Festival.
We participated in DSSP Tri Golf Festival. We enjoyed learning new golf skills and representing our school in a range of activities.

We have celebrated ‘Jenes for Genes’ by wearing our favourite jeans.

Outdoor art
Class 3 used natural resources to create predator art. They created a range of predators such as lions and birds of prey.

Pedestrain training.
We have been participating in some pedestrian training provided by Durham County Council. We learnt all about the Green Cross Code and how to safely cross roads by looking right then left. Class 3 were so sensible and listened very carefully to instructions!

Judo taster session
Class 3 really enjoyed learning some new skills in a judo taster session.

Topic Engagement – Predators
For our memorable experience Class 3 watched an episode of Deadly 60. From the program we learnt all about the special features that predators have to survive. We then created our own birds of prey and thought carefully about it’s habitat and the special features our predator has!
