Science Day!

March 23, 2023 by admin

Today we had a fantastic afternoon, taking part in a science experiment, investigation or activity. Each class had a teacher from another class teaching a fun activity, all to do with ‘connections’.

Class 1

Class 1 became Nature Detectives with Miss Grimes and had to find lots of different mini beasts. We named as many different bugs as we could, before going outside and seeing which ones we could find on the school grounds. We all described one of the bugs and discussed the similarities and differences between them. We loved using different equipment to explore various habitats.

Class 2

Class 2 set up and performed a Super Science Experiment! It was fascinating to learn about materials that absorbed things and to watch the colour changing kitchen roll make a rainbow was a WOW moment for all ๐Ÿ™‚

Class 4

We all looked at a variety of variables and how to maintain a fair test to design and construct an investigation to build the strongest bridge. We had some lovely designs and were able to draw conclusions. Rights Respecting Gold ethos demonstrated by all.

Class 5

Class 5 showed off their amazing Scientific knowledge and impressed Mrs Aspinall with all they know about plants and the importance of soil. They understood why it is important to humans. We then set up an investigation … plant your pants. We planted two pairs of identical cotton pants in different locations on our school field. We then predicted what they will look like in 8 weeks time. We cant wait to go back and see if our predictions are correct.
