Random Act of Kindness Day 2022

February 22, 2022 by admin

Random Acts of Kindness Day is a day to celebrate and encourage random acts of kindness. Each class was given the opportunity to pick a different class name from a hat; once they had chosen their class they got to work deciding on what random act of kindness they wanted delivering to their door at 2pm! The deliveries were AMAZING ๐Ÿ™‚

  • The children of class 1 spoke and wanted to deliver Class 4 a make your own ice cream station “just like the Pizza Hut one”:

  • Class 2 wanted to deliver a balloon and a Movie to every child in Class 5:

  • Class 3 decided to randomly surprise Class 1 with popcorn, sweeties and a Movie:

  • Class 4 had the job of making Class 3 smile….. and their delivery of a chocolate fountain certainly did:

  • Class 5 went for a delivery to match the weather too… Class 2 had Ice creams knocking on their door:

UNCRC Article 31 โ€“ The Right to relax and Play

This afternoon we had so much fun; singing, dancing and playing party games in the school hall for our Spring Time Disco. It was great to get together with our friends across the school as a treat for all of the hard work we have done so far this year. The smiles on the children’s faces were huge. Happy Half term – you all deserve it ๐Ÿ™‚

Breakfast Club

February 18, 2022 by admin

This week, the Rights Respecting Champions and members of our Breakfast Club have been working together to broaden our breakfast menu, by adding some new healthy options. They created a questionnaire to find out which foods breakfast club members would like to try. Using their pupil voice, they then discussed the outcomes with the breakfast club staff and today everyone enjoyed scrambled egg and beans on toast!

Merci Papi

UNCRC Article 29 โ€“ Develop a childโ€™s talents

Class 1 had lots of fun working with Papi, we have been working hard this half term to remember how to say ‘hello’ and ‘goodbye’ in French as well as how to say ‘mam’ and ‘dad’. We did some fantastic role play for greetings and even learned a new little rhyme that we can sing each morning ๐Ÿ™‚

A big thank you to our governor Papi for taking the time to come into class to teach us French phrases. In class 2 we are very good at saying โ€˜Je mโ€™appelleโ€™. Thank you again Papi ๐Ÿ˜Š

We had a lovely visitor for our French lesson this week. Papi was kind enough to come in and teach us all of the French colours. She was so impressed with how class 3 listened and learned the colours. It was an amazing experience for class 3!

In Class 4, we had lots of fun with French picture and word flashcards. Merci Papi.

Class 2 Home Readers

Home Readers

This half term we have tried hard to read at home at least once a week. Each week we receive a leaf to add to our class beanstalk if we remember! Mrs Aspinall and Mrs Hindmarch promised a chocolate fountain treat if we could reach 60 leaves before half term. Well today we smashed our target and managed 61 leaves a week before our deadline! We were super excited to sample the chocolate fountain ๐Ÿซ yummy ๐Ÿ˜‹

Class 1 celebrates National Pizza Day

February 11, 2022 by admin

If pizza is always your go-to favorite food, your day is finally here;ย 9th February, is National Pizza Day and to celebrate this we made our own pizzas from scratch! Mrs Morton was sooo happy as pizza is her favourite ๐Ÿคฉย

We looked at where in the worldย Pizza was first invented and found out it was in Naples, Italy!

We also found out that to make the dough rise you need a living thing, called good bacteria, to make the dough grow!

Our favourite part was adding our favourite toppings to the pizza bases …. not forgetting eating them after they were cooked! Mmmmmm delicious ๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿ•๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿณ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡น

Intra House Football

February 10, 2022 by admin

We had a fantastic afternoon celebrating and promoting Schools Football week on Wednesday 9th February.

Earlier in the week the Sports Leaders introduced this week with a whole school assembly. They then held an afternoon of football fun with Mr Beveridge.

Each class had a football task to complete and score points towards their teams total. Sports Leaders kept score and gave our certificates of achievement!

We were pleased to announce the winning team was yellow who then had a go at beating the teachers!

We all had a great afternoon!

UNCRC Article 29 – right to join in a range of activities.
