- UNCRC Article 24: Every child has the right to the best possible health
A day of Smiles and Random Acts of Kindness; hosted by the UNCRC Rights Respecting Champions.
Huge well done to everyone who made the wonderful effort – it was AMAZING to see all of you wearing what made you happy ๐
At 2pm for half an hour the children set to work delivering their Random Acts of Kindness to the children in their secretly chosen classes. It was fantastic to see every child have a smile on their faces – the most contagious thing in Nettlesworth:
- Class 1 were delighted to receive a specially planned Sweety Hunt on our school field by Class 4!
- Class 2 were soooooo excited to be invited to a disco in the school hall by Class 3!
- Class 3 were soooooo happy to have all of the OOA resources outside on the yard from Class 5!
- Class 4 couldn’t believe that they had hotdogs and a movie delivered to their door from Class 2!
- Class 5 were astounded when a pizza delivery was made by Class 1!
Check out our SELFIE’s – I challenge you not to smile whilst watching it…. It’s impossible ๐
Rights Respecting Champions Launch Outright Campaign 2021
UNCRC Article Link 12: Every child has the right to have a say in all matter affecting them.
Today we launched the Outright campaign with the whole school; this year’s focus is on Mental Health and Wellbeing. The champions delivered a fantastic assembly to the children along with a PowerPoint explaining what Nettlesworth Primary School children will be campaigning for this year.
They set out the first activity for the whole school to enjoy which will take place on Friday 1st October 2021 – WORLD SMILE DAY! The Rights Respecting Champions have sent letters home to invite children to come to school on Friday wearing whatever makes them HAPPY! As part of the day; the Champions organised Class names to be drawn from a hat by the teachers – the children then went back to their classes with the teachers and held a discussion on what RANDOM ACT OF KINDNESS they would deliver to the chosen class at 2pm on Friday….

Class 2 visit church
UNCRC 14 โ Right to a religion
Today we visited church in Kimblesworth. We walked to church and visited Reverend Michael. He let us explore the church and find all of the features that we had learnt about in class. We went on a treasure hunt! He then talked to us about each feature and what it is used for. We had a lovely time!
