Art Coffee Morning

January 18, 2024 by admin

UNCRC Article 31 – Take part in a range of activities.

We had such a successful Coffee Morning, raising money for a new sound system, to support our performances in school. Our Art Ambassadors did such a fantastic job setting up and helping all of our children and parents with their crafts. Thank you very much to everyone that came and for your generous donations. We managed to raise a total of £224.30 which is amazing!  The children had so much fun and enjoyed creating their crafts and thank you everyone for coming.

Art Ambassadors

January 15, 2024 by admin

UNCRC Article 29 – Education must develop a child’s talent.

We now have our very own Art Ambassadors. We have so many amazing artists in school and feel it is important to celebrate this! We have chosen 6 children we feel have shown this talent, to help with art events, art lessons and to inspire other children. Well done to Dylan, Hannah, Lara, Jessica, Gabriel and Farren for showing us your art skills.

Christmas Jumper & Dinner Day 2023

December 13, 2023 by admin

Christmas Jumper Day is Save the Children’s annual event which raises money for the children who need it most. Every December, millions of people across the United Kingdom (and beyond!) put on a festive knit at their workplace, school or with friends and make a donation to help give children the magical future they deserve.

At Nettlesworth Primary School we celebrated this on Wednesday 13th December 2023 raising money for this amazing charity as well as spreading festive cheer!

We also had a surprise visit from Santa – every child receiving a written response to their letter / list that they sent to the North Pole. Not forgetting a wonderful Christmas Lunch with all of the staff and children in the school hall 🙂

KS2 Ukulele Concert

December 13, 2023 by admin

UNCRC Article 29 – Education must develop a child’s talent.

Over the term, KS2 have been working hard with Mr Stokoe to learn how to play the Ukulele. The children have learnt lots of different chords and now know how to play a range of songs. To celebrate their hard work, this morning the children performed in a concert to the rest of the school. Class 3, 4 and 5 played a range of songs and sang along. We are so impressed by how talented the children are and how quickly they have picked it up!

Well done everyone!

December 12, 2023 by admin

UNCRC Article 14 – freedom of thought, belief and religion

What a lovely afternoon we have all had when our children and families were welcomed into Saint Philip and Saint James Church – Kimblesworth – to celebrate our Christingle.

The children read their readings superbly and sang their songs to give a truly magical performance in church.

Thank you to all our carers, parents and family members for celebrating our Christingle with us.

From all the children and staff of Nettlesworth Primary School, we wish you a very Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year.

Christmas arrives at Nettlesworth

December 11, 2023 by admin

Today we all gathered in the school hall to take part in our annual tradition of decorating the Christmas Tree. Each child put a bauble on before the grand finale of the light switch on. It was so much fun dancing and singing to the festive music before sitting down to listen to the poem read by Mrs Lee; ‘Twas the night before Christmas.
