We are delighted to announce that we, Nettlesworth Primary School, have achieved the School Games Platinum Mark Award for the 2023/24 academic year.
The School Games Mark is a Government-led award scheme launched in 2012, facilitated by the Youth Sport Trust to reward schools for their commitment to the development of competition across their school and into the community, and we are delighted to have been recognised for our success.
We are extremely proud of our pupils for their dedication to all aspects of school sport, including those young volunteers, leaders and officials who made our competitions possible.
As part of our application, we were asked to fulfil criteria in the areas of participation, competition, workforce and clubs, and we are pleased that the hard work of everyone at our school has been rewarded this year.
A special thanks to:
Sports Leaders, SSOC’s crew, playground buddies and all of the hard working staff here at NPS!

We are very proud to have been awarded confirmation of ongoing Centre of Excellence Status which reinforces the work that we do to ensure that every child in our school is valued and has their education directly tailored to their learning needs. It represents the fact that we are a fully inclusive school who promote the social, emotional and academic well being of all of our pupils.

We are excited to be working with Naomi and Sarah from the Refuse Cafe in Chester le street. They are working with us to help us understand our food waste in school and how this has an impact on the world around us. We have our very own Waste Warriors in school too, who will be helping to spread the important message about food waste and how we can work to ensure we waste as little food as possible. Keep an eye on our website for more information!

What a fabulous afternoon we have all had when we welcomed our wonderful families into school to celebrate our hard work and fabulous creations for the Easter Egg Competition. We all designed and created our eggs in school ready for judging today. We were all very impressed with the judges – 2 children from each class – who stood on stage and explained how they came to their decisions.
We are all very proud of our children for all their efforts and their Rights Respecting Gold ethos.
We hope you all enjoy your chocolate eggs.

What a fabulous day we all have had celebrating World Book Day in school. We all had the opportunity to dress up as one of our favourite characters from a favourite book and share our love for reading with our friends and teachers.
Thank you to all our wonderful families for your tremendous efforts in preparing our children: they all looked fabulous.
