Article of the Week Safer Internet Day

Hello, Safer Internet Day is marked each year on 7 February and promotes safe, responsible and positive use of the internet. The activities in this pack explore issues around online life through the lens of three articles: Article 19, the right to protection from harm, Article 17, the right to reliable information and Article 34, protection from exploitation. With so many stories in the media about the impact of online influencers we would advise you to consider how you can create a safe space and what safeguarding procedures should be in place before opening up some of this week’s discussion points, particularly within the secondary activities. If you would like to take this strand further we would recommend the Votes For Schools Safer Internet Day vote, Should we blame influencers for online harms?
