To commemorate the 80th anniversary of Victory in Europe Day, we celebrated all week long by creating some beautiful pieces of art within our classes, which we shared outside the front of the school for the whole community to enjoy. On Wednesday, the History Ambassadors helped Mrs Edwards in presenting personal WWII artefacts to the whole school, explaining what each item meant and how the soldiers would have lived during the war. Then, on VE Day afternoon, we had our very own school field party! We listened to some 1940s music, had some juice, had cupcakes and discussed how happy the country would have felt 80 years ago.

Huge congratulations to every child and their wonderful egg creation that they have been working hard on in school this year. Every child received a prize for their efforts, donated by Nettlesworth School Community Group and the winners received something EGG-stra special.
As usual the competition was judged by 2 children from a different class and no names were on the egg creations to make sure it was fair – big well done to the judges too for standing up on stage and announcing your reasons for the 3 top prizes.
