A massive thank you to everyone who donated to our CIN day. We have had lots of fun joining in spotty dressing up, Joe Wicks movement classes, Pudsey biscuits for lunch, hoopla competitions and beat the teachers!

A great big thank you to the SSOCs and sports leaders who made the day run smoothly.

Here is what Lacie-Mae (SSOCs) had to say ….

For children in need day we had so much fun doing a hoopla game. We did it to raise money for children in need to help them if they need things. 

What we did … we got each class in turn. First we got class 1 and we did the team games. Red v blue then yellow v green. Then the winners played each other, right up to class 5. 

We got 2 hoops and used them. In KS2 you weren’t allowed to let go of hands and you had to get your full body through the hoops but for KS1 you were allowed to let go of hands. 

The prize was a sweet for the class winner and the winner out of all the teams got a chocolate bar and played the teachers. The teachers won 🙁

We are so proud of Jayden for being our artist of the month. He loves art so much that he has a sketch book that he draws in at home. He brought it in to show us and the details in his work are amazing. Well done Jayden.

 

We are also celebrating the work of pop art artist Andy Warhol.

Crisis Support Sleep Over – 12.11.21

UNCRC Article 27 (adequate standard of living)

What an experience we have all just had – a sleep over with a difference!

In support to our Charity – Crisis Support – our children spent the night in school sleeping on the hall floor to re-enact what it would be like if we were to be homeless. The children made shelters from cardboard boxes, ate soup from the soup kitchen and made clothing from plastic bags. This has been a real eye-opener for the children, who all demonstrated their Rights Respecting Ethos in how they conducted themselves throughout the evening. Well done Class 5; you have shone once again.

UNCRC Article 38 – Children in war zones should receive protection.

Matthew and George, from Class 4, looked so smart as they represented the Cubs during the Remembrance Service on Sunday 14th November. Well done, to you both.

 

UNCRC Article 13 – freedom of expression

What a superb week of debate we have had this week at Nettlesworth Primary School. We have deployed our Rights Respecting Gold Ethos throughout the whole week as we learned about Parliament, the Government, what debates are and how we can organise our own campaign in order to enhance our very own community. Even though UK Parliamentary Week has ended, we will be continuing our work across the coming weeks with a debate that will be sent to our local MP.

Once again, the children have shown a fabulous Rights Respecting Gold ethos and were a real creadit. Well done everyone.

UNCRC Article 28 – right to education

A massive well done to our children who have caught the eyes of their teacher. Once again, we have been blown away by the quality of your work.

A massive well done to every single child and their adults for the commitment and drive to succeed this week during our TT Rockstars ENGLAND ROCKS Competition. The children have been working incredibly hard both in school and at home to enhance their multiplication knowledge and gain points for the competition. Well done to all who achieved a certificate for coming in the top 3 in their respective classes, and a huge well done to Harry, Luke, Harry, George, Jake for coming 1st.

Remember to keep up the good work.

UNCRC Article Link: 38 – Governments must do everything they can to protect and care for children affected by war.

On the 11th day of the 11th month; on the 11th hour Nettlesworth Primary School got together to take part in our annual Remembrance Day assembly. We have been working hard in Art & History as a whole school to create different displays in preparation for this day and it was great to see it all put together. We had some wonderful poems shared by the children in Class 5 who have been working hard on this area for literacy homework.
