Today we had a very special visit from Jo, from LTA, she told us all about what she has achieved over the years. We thanked her for helping us to update our tennis equipment in school as well as putting on a tennis demonstration of skills. She was very impressed!

Thank you to Mr Beveridge for organising the visit and teaching us all the amazing skills!

Durham Dash

June 15, 2023 by admin

A massive well done to the 8 children who represented our school at the Durham Dash on Wednesday. They all ran a race around Beamish Museum, competing against 28 other schools from around County Durham.

We are all so proud of them and their determination to run even though the temperatures were warm!

Well done!

June 15, 2023 by admin

We would like to thank everyone who was able to attend our first Eco Friendly School Coffee Morning. It was a massive success and we were able to raise ยฃ153.50, which will go towards us buying equipment to help us reduce our carbon footprint as a school.

A great BIG thank you to Ross, for donating plants to school. This is part of our mission to increase the amount of indoor plants we have ins school. All of our rooms now look amazing!

And not forgetting Mrs Burton and Mrs Lofthouse, thank you for baking and donating cakes and your time!

Today we had lots of fun taking part in football skills to help raise money for our annual Soccer Aid event.

The sports leaders did an amazing job of organising and delivering the whole event for our school.

Two final treats … slush and watching a football match. Sports leaders v Teachers. A clean 4 – 1 win to the leaders … well done!

UNCRC Article 10 and 22 World Refugee Day

June 8, 2023 by admin

Article of the Week
World Refugee Day
Hello,

World Refugee Day is an international day designated by the United Nations to honour refugees around the globe. It falls each year on June 20 and celebrates the strength and courage of people who have been forced to flee their home country to escape conflict or persecution.

In this pack we explore two rights in relation to this event.ย Article 10, family reunification, and Article 22, refugee children.ย Both of these articles help to safeguard provisions around family and the specific protection and assistance needs of children living in displacement contexts.

It is possible that children and young people in your class might have experienced being displaced and living as a refugee, so we would ask that you use the activities within this pack sensitively.
