Class 5 Parents’ SAT Meeting – 28.1.25

January 20, 2025 by admin

Our children in Class 5 have been working incredibly hard in preparation for their Standardised Assessment Tests (SATs) which are scheduled to commence on Monday 12th May 2025 – Thursday 15th May 2025.

We are holding a Class 5 Parent SAT meeting to discuss the SATs and answer any relevant questions you may have about the actual assessment week. It will be a good chance for you to look at previous papers / materials and familarise yourself with what your child will be faced with come May. The meeting is for Year 5 and Year 6 parents as our Year 5 children have been very much part of our preparations. The meeting will be on Tuesday 28th January at 4:00pm. It will be lovely to welcome you all into school.

We are immensely proud of all our children and their relentless efforts throughout the year – whether it is in school, during SATs Clubs, or at home – their achievements will be just rewards for their dedication and commitment to succeed.

May we personally thank you for your continued support, as without this, our jobs would be a lot harder!

If you have any queries, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

Once again, thank you for your continued support, and another huge WELL DONE to our wonderful children; you have and are performing fantastically well and all the staff are very proud of you.

TT Rockstars – Top of the Rocks

January 20, 2025 by admin

UNCRC Article 29 – goals of education

TT Rockstars – Top of the Rocks (20th to 23rd January 2025)

Our children continue to work hard on the development of their Multiplication Tables – these are essential skills to enhance the children’s mental mathematics and number property knowledge and understanding. The children from each class are actively involved in multiplication exercises through our TT Rockstars and Numbots initiative in school and using their electronic devices at home.

May I first say a huge thank you for all your commitment in helping your child complete their TT Rockstars and Numbots at home – long may this continue.

This week (Monday 20th – Thursday 23rd January), we will be taking part in a friendly competition involving schools from County Durham based on our children’s TT Rockstars. It’s all done online via play.ttrockstars.com and their normal TT Rockstar accounts on their personal devices – iPads, laptops, PCs…

For every correct answer to a multiplication or division question, your child will earn their class a point. The Times Tables Rock Stars platform will calculate the class average (the number of correct answers per pupil in the class who play during the competition hours, subject to a daily 60-minute limit (see below). Winning classes in the school and in the competition as a whole will be the ones with the highest average.

All game modes (Gig, Garage, Studio, etc.) will count but only from games played between 7:30AM GMT and 7:30PM GMT on Monday 20th, Tuesday 21st, Wednesday 22nd and Thursday 23rd. To support player wellbeing, there is a daily time limit of 60 minutes per player. In other words, each player can earn competition points for up to 60 minutes between 7.30am and 7.30pm. Once the player goes beyond 60 minutes of play on a given day, they will still earn coins but will no longer earn points towards the competition.

In the spirit of the competition, please don’t play on their behalf but by all means encourage and support them to the extent that it doesn’t cause high stress levels or impact on family plans. We suggest a limit of half an hour a day outside school hours – some will play more, some will play less.

Please don’t hesitate to contact us with any queries.

Once again, thank you for your continuous support.
