E-Safety Assembly – Sharing pictures & Videos
UNCRC Article 16 & 17 Links
Today in Mrs Morton’s assembly the children worked in groups to learn about being safe when sharing their personal pictures and videos.
We met characters; Mo and Tia, who together with Jessie complete the friendship trio. At Tia’s birthday party they use Tia’s older brother Kyle’s mobile to take fun photos of themselves. They agree to send their photos to Tia’s nan but also a few other people whose numbers are saved in Kyle’s phone. When the photos are shared with other children at their school without their permission, they turn to their teacher for help. The three friends learn about how images can get shared more widely than you first expect, and the importance of consent. Check out the video and website below to see more about this:

Today we went to Sherburn Leisure Centre to take part in a Gymnastic event. We had loads of fun bouncing and jumping and balancing! We loved using all of the equipment and practising the skills we have learnt in school with Mr Beveridge.

A day with Adam Bushnell
Today, the Children across the whole school have thoroughly enjoyed working with the writer Adam Bushnell.
From creating superhero animals and unleashing his real life pet ‘Spidertoise’, to looking at how Henry VIII bought a gargoyle head for the Palace in London, the children have really excelled themselves.
All of these exciting launches to our new topics for Spring 1 will lead to some amazingly creative Big Writes next week! 🙂
