Today we took part in this year’s ‘Jeans for Genes’ Day on Friday 22nd September.
1 in 25 children has a genetic disorder that makes their life very difficult. That’s one in every class. Simply by wearing our jeans and donating, we will change the lives of these children. All children and staff were invited to wear their jeans on Friday for national ’Jeans for Genes’ Day and it was great to here the inspiring stories of some of our staff and children who have genetic disorders.
Thank you for your all support, we have raised £

Dear Parents/Carers,
We’re delighted to inform you that Nettlesworth Primary School has retained its ‘good’ judgement by Ofsted in our latest inspection under the new framework.
There’s been a lot of hard work behind the scenes to maintain this ‘good’ judgement, and we’re thrilled that the hard work of our staff has been recognised. I’m sure you’ll join me in congratulating everyone who works and volunteers at our school.
I wanted to draw your attention to the following feedback we received:
‘This is a happy school. Welcoming smiles from exceptionally caring staff greet pupils at the start of each day.’
‘Leaders set high expectations for all pupils.’
‘Pupils’ behavior is excellent.’
‘A new approach to the teaching of phonics has strengthened early reading in school.’
‘Pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities are fully included in the life of the school. The needs are identified quickly. Leaders do all they can to ensure they recive the right support and intervention.’
‘There is a strong culture of safeguarding established at the school. Leaders know their pupils well. This means they are alert to the smallest changes in their behavior. They are swift to seek the support and advice of other agencies. Record keeping is meticulous, and the chronology of actions taken is detailed.’
I also wanted to personally thank everyone who completed Ofsted’s Parent View survey. This is such valuable feedback, and we will read every comment to continue to make the school the best that it can be for your children.

What this means for us now:
Thank you once again for all the support you continue to give the school. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
Best wishes,

May the road rise to meet you;
may the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
and the rain fall soft upon your fields.
Until we meet again,
may God hold you in the hollow of His hand.
Year 6, you are all a true inspiration for your peers; aim high and never stop believing – you will achieve and we all believe in you.

UNCRC Article 31 – Right to take part in cultural activities.
Today we celebrated Bastille Day, as part of our Arts Culture Day. All of the children looked fantastic in their red, white and blue clothes and have had a lovely day, taking part in different celebrations in their classes. Each class created their own piece of artwork to take home and we had the pleasure of watching a live band perform. We have had an excellent day with lots of celebrations.
